The Bahrain Redevelopment Project is a joint venture between nogaholding (the business and investment arm of Bahrain’s National Oil & Gas Authority), Occidental Petroleum Corporation and Mubadala Development Company.  This project between the joint venture partners was officially decreed in law by Royal Decree number 24 on 21 June 2009, entitled 'The Development and Production Sharing Agreement (DPSA).

Senior Engineer - Drilling


Job Summary:
Accountable for the adequate design and support of assigned well work and projects so that said work can be con­ducted in a safe, environmentally acceptable, and efficient manner, and in compliance with Company policies and government regulations and is a mentor for early career drilling engineers.
Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for engineering quality through the use of established tools and standards
  • Assumes a lead role and is an active participant in well design meetings
  • Indentifies and evaluates appropriate offset wells
  • Reviews and submits results of hazard surveys to the Head of Drilling Engineering
  • Works closely with the Directional Drilling Specialists to optimize directional programs
  • Leads internal well design reviews and risk assessments for assigned wells
  • Prepares drilling procedures for assigned wells using Tatweer Standards, SOP's, and Best Practices
  • Leads internal well design reviews and risk assessments for assigned wells
  • Works closely with the Drilling Superintendent & Monitors daily morning reports to ensure accuracy
  • Accountable for cost control oversight including AFE and supplemental approval funding requests
  • Reviews procedures, technical details, and hazard / risk analysis as directed by manager
  • Maintains a full understanding of the HSEMS program and participate actively
  • Prepares end of well reports
  • Responsible for preparing tender specs and analyzing vendor responses
  • Participates in Risk Assessments and ensures risks are managed properly
  • Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor
Qualifications:
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline
Experience
  • 10+ years oil field experience with 3 years in Drilling
  • Experience in the Middle East preferable
