Responsible for directing sale of the company’s products and/or services. Calls on prospective high level customers and thought leaders, provides technical and administrative product information and/or demonstrations, and develops a selling team to support sales requirements within budget. Responsible for new account development within an established geographic territory, industry or product line. Works to meet assigned sales quota. Interfaces with senior management/marketing to bring resources and programs to the marketplace. Works to leverage the full potential of all organizational resources to provide functional and technical expertise as well as vision (direction and purpose) by engaging and aligning resources.
  • Work at top levels within Key Accounts such as UM, MGI, MGRC, UM Sabah, UNIMAS, MARDI, MPOB, FRIM, ACGT etc service facilities, major core facilities and secure business for the company
  • Interface with senior management to bring all resources needed
  • Proven ability to develop key account plans and form partnerships with key contacts in industrial, academic and government accounts
  • Work with PacBio Marketing (supplier) to ensure effective selling tools, feedback and product/market fit.
  • Provide general intelligence on key competitors
  • Coordinates, facilitates and presents the quarterly forecast for the business. 
  • Coordinates the efforts of the sales team incentivized with a commission plan. 
  • Facilitate forecasting calls to develop consistent forecasting methodology
  • Facilitate the key account plan documents for viewing by management
  • Work with sales and marketing teams to assess and develop tactics for penetration of accounts with high throughput sequencing platforms
  • Align resources to develop technical opportunities into commercial opportunities

  • BSc degree in Biological Science or related field. 
  • 2+ years of successful experience in managing managers 
  • 5+ years of successful experience in field sales management with ability to demonstrate development of teams
  • 5-10 years proven sales experience in life science products and services 
  • Excellent sales skills, including prospecting, negotiating, listening and closing 
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Strong technical background in Molecular Biology or Genomics 
  • 20-30% travel 
  • Knowledge of key accounts and key researchers 
  • Effectively maintain an office at home
