Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn Bhd (GBKL) is a subsidiary of a food listed company, QAF Ltd, who also operates Gardenia Singapore, Gardenia Philippines and will soon be opening Gardenia bakery in Fujian, China.

GBKL is an associate company of Padi Beras Nasional Berhad.

In 1969, an American named Horatio Sye Slocumm was sent by International Executive Service Corporation (IESC) to East Malaysia to start a bakery. Mr. Slocumm brought with him 35 years of baking experience with one of America's leading chain of bakeries. Gardenia was born.
Gardenia Bakeries (KL) Sdn Bhd rolled the first loaf of bread off its line in 1986. Within four short years, it became the bread market leader with an astounding 99 percent brand recall rate and 80 percent top-of-mind recall.

Gardenia's range of products grew and evolved through the years, becoming better and better with each step. Leveraging on its brand strength, Gardenia now produces a variety of baked products to satisfy consumers' demands.


1.Accounts Officer (AP Section)
Grade: Officer I
Age: 28 - 35 years old
Qualification: Minimum LCCI Higher or its equivalent
Work experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in handling Accounts Payable of an entity with very high volume of transactions and tight deadlines.
  • Must possess strong ability to handle suppliers reconciliation with large volume of transactions with tight deadline.
  • Possess a working knowledge of accounting double entry.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Computer literate with good communication and inter-personal skill. Experience in Pronto Accounting packages will be an added advantage although not necessary. Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Words.
  • Hardworking, possess self initiative and able to meet tight deadlines plus the willingness to work long hours to meet deadline.
  • Working experience in a manufacturing concern although is preferred but not essential.
  • Must be a team player.
Job Description:
  • Responsible for the timely closing of Accounts Payable module and the maintainance of the AP system including the necessary filing of documents.
  • Handles the reconciliation of major suppliers' accounts with the assistance of junior staff and preparation of schedules to support the payments.
  • Supervision of Junior staff.
  • Handles stock-take and other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Management.

2.Officer II - Treasury function
Age: 28 - 35 years old
Qualification: Minimum LCCI Higher or its equivalent
Work experience:
  • Conversant in treasury functions and possess a solid foundation in Finance & book-keeping.
  • Must possess strong ability to handle bank reconciliation with complex transactions with tight deadline whenever necessary.
  • Possess a working knowledge of accounting double entry and foundation in accounting principles and standards and does not require constant supervision.
  • Proficient in both wriften and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Gomputer literate with good communication and inter-personal skill. Experience in Pronto Accounting packages will be an added advantage although not necessary. Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft excel and Winwords.
  • Hardworking, possess self initlative and able to meet tight deadlines plus the willingness to work long hours to meet deadline.
  • Must possess the ability to plan his/her work with the objective of meeting deadlines.
  • Must be a team player.
Job Description:
  • To assist in treasury functions including monitoring of fund placements, timing of repayment of borrowings, forex transactions and banking facilities.
  • To assist in handling administrative work relating to the treasury function, liaise with bankers, external parties and auditors.
  • To keep, update and maintain the cashbook for the various bank accounts.
  • To assist in issuance of cheques whenever the need arises and to ensure timely release of payments.
  • To handle the filing of documents relating to the treasury function.
  • To assist in reconciliation of bank accounts and month-end closing of accounts whenever the need arises.
  • To handle petty cash disbursement and reimbursement as well as monitor the monthly stationery and uniform stock take exercise.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by management from time to time.

3.Production Executive (6 positions)
  • Degree/Diploma in Food Science, Technology or Engineering.
  • Those with qualifications in other disciplines but with proven relevant experience in food manufacturing will also be considered.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in food manufacturing.
  • Well-versed in ISO 9001 and HACCP systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership and analytical skills.

4.Marketing Executive (1 position)
  • Degree in Public Relations / Marketing or its equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years related experience.
  • Good written and communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Possess own transport.
