Petrojaya is a multidisciplinary Bruneian engineering company that provides full engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services to a broad range of industries, including the oil and gas, petrochemical, process and infrastructure industries.

In addition, PJSB provides technological services in several related markets, including state of the art dimensional control & 3D modelling technology, turnkey modular equipment design and supply, information technology and integrated construction work management system.


The following positions are open to applicants who are eligible;

LEAD PIPELINE ENGINEER

QUALIFICATION:-
    • Have 15 years experience of which twelve (12) years must be of practical engineering design experience (designer / drafting level is not included) appropriate to the discipline in the offshore and onshore oil and gas industry.
    • At least three (3) years shall have been spent in the overall coordination and supervision of an engineering design team.
    • Have a recognised degree or equivalent qualification in his / her discipline. In addition, he/she shall be a member of a recognised institution and a registered Professional Engineer / Chartered Engineer e.g. MIE (Aust), IPENZ, MIMech E, MICE, IEM, etc.
    • Shall be conversant and have working knowledge with the relevant international standards and code of practices.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-

    • Represent CONTRACTOR in Co-ordination with COMPANY Discipline Heads / Project Team for monitoring of COMPANY Standards and quality.
    • Review any design work carried out by third parties (vendors), and to participate in, some instances lead HAZOP, HAZID, IPF, reliability studies, Safety and Facilities Technical audits.
    • Establish the actual (as opposed to design) capacities / capabilities of existing field facilities in order to identify potential bottlenecks and scope for optimization.
    • Identify potential applications for new technology.
    • Actively develop local staff to fulfil engineers and managing role.
    • Environmental aspects (ISO14001) of oil and gas design.
    • Safety aspects of design in relation to the project cycle e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, HAZAN, IPF classification methology and implementation, reliability studies, Fire & Gas mapping and risk analysis techniques.
    • Quality Assurance and Control requirements of the design process.
    • Life cycle cost analysis.
    • Prepare engineering, construction and material estimation, schedule, resource planning and update resource capacity planning half yearly.

QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER

QUALIFICATION:-
    • Hold a recognized HND/HNC in an engineering discipline and with at least 7 years relevant experience in oil gas engineering design and implementation work, at least 3 years of which should have been in Quality Assurance and Control. Preference will be given to candidate who is registered under the UK Institute of Quality Assurance National Scheme for Assessors of Quality System at Lead Assessor Level

TASK AND RESPONSIBILITY:-

    • To ensure that the quality system is implemented and maintained in accordance with requirements of BS 5750 or ISO 9001 and subjected to regular audit and review.
    • To ensure that the staff are familiar with the fundamental operational systems and have ready access to procedures describing the quality management system.
    • Monitor at appropriate stages of design, formal documented reviews of the design results to ensure that design stages output meets the design input requirement.
    • Promoting and ensuring feedback of project experience together with input from new technology, plus feedback from audits to ensure continues improvements of the quality management system is realized.
    • Operating an internal audit program utilizing qualified personnel independent of the area being audited to determine the effective application of the quality management system and follow-up effective close out of the deficiencies.

SENIOR MATERIALS & CORROSION ENGINEER

    -> Hold a recognised degree in metallurgy and/or corrosion, chemistry or equivalent and minimum 10 years of materials and corrosion engineering practical experience in the offshore and onshore oil & gas industry in the areas of design, construction, testing, commissioning or maintenance (petrochemical industry experience is not considered).
    -> Have 7 years experience in the upstream oil & gas facility design and preferably two (2) years in a leading / coordination role in multi-discipline team.
    -> Have a working knowledge of the relevant International Standards and Codes of Practice normally used in the Oil and Gas Industry. It is strongly preferred that the incumbent be familiar and has worked with Shell International Design Engineering Procedures (DEP’s).
    -> Have sound appreciation of:-
      • Environmental aspects (ISO14001) of oil and gas design.
      • Safety aspects of design in relation to the project cycle; e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, HAZAN, IPF classification methodology and implementation, reliability studies, Fire & Gas and risk analysis techniques.
      • Quality Assurance and Control requirements of the design process.
    -> Be capable of working independently and be able to handle interfaces between engineering specialists, project engineers and operations / maintenance personnel outside and within project teams.
    -> Have a comprehensive knowledge of:-
      • Select metallic and/or non-metallic materials.
      • Corrosion mechanism & can perform corrosion prediction modeling.
      • Optimise materials selection against life cycle costs.
      • Define materials and fabrication specifications.
      • Develop corrosion control strategy for life cycle integrity.
      • Define cathodic protection systems.
      • Indentify protective coating systems.
      • Select and design inhibitor systems.
      • Specify monitoring criteria & inspection / monitoring techniques.
      • Specify QA/QC needs in manufacturing / procuring / installing.
      • Corrosion Risk Based Assessment.
      • Welding / joining of materials.

SENIOR ROTATING EQUIPMENT ENGINEER

    a) Hold a recognized degree in Engineering relevant to their experience.
    b) Have a minimum 10 years (unless specified otherwise) of relevant practical experience of which 7 years are identifiable in the relevant discipline engineering and design of upstream oil and gas facilities (Designer / Drafting level is not considered).
    c) Have a working knowledge of the relevant International Standards and codes of practice normally used in oil and gas Industry. It is preferred that the incumbent be familiar and has worked with Shell International Design Engineering Procedures (DEP’s). The roles and responsibilities of these engineers are to carry out the work allocated by the senior engineer.
    d) Have sound appreciation:
      • Environmental aspects of oil and gas design..
      • Safety aspects of design in relation to the project cycle; e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, HAZAN, IPF classification methodology and implementation, reliability studies, Fire and Gas mapping, and risk analysis techniques.
      • Quality Assurance and Control requirements of the design process.

SENIOR PROCESS ENGINEER

The requirement is to recruit an experienced process engineer to join existing team at senior position. the senior Process Engineer will lead a team of process engineers and report to the head of department.

The Candidate shall have minimum 15 years experience in process engineering design of oil and gas upstream facilities, petrochemical and fertilizer plants, etc. It must include minimum 10 years experience in engineering company or Shell's design engineering contractor. The candidate must have previous experience in leading the team of process engineering for performing the Conceptual Studies and Front End Engineering.

The candidate shall have past experience and knowledge about the process engineering requirement for producing wells, water injection wells, gathering stations, offshore tanker filling terminals, relief valve sizing scenarios, gas dehydration units and flare sizing, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities;

    - Candidate shall have abilitiy t lead a team of engineers and designers, and shall demonstrate the strong technical leadership and coaching ability.
    - Shall be results-oriented and effectively manage own time and that of the team. Shall ensure to complete the projects in the alloted budget of man-hours.
    - Must process the problem solving and decision making ability. Shall be able to identify facts, consider available and recommend the most appropriate one for engineering.
    - Candidate shall be able to analyze the available data and information provided by the production unit and other engineering diciplines, and make decisions.
    - Candidate shall utilize the engineering skills and knowledge to meet business goals and objectives, and drive the continous improvement activities.
    - Candidate shall participate in development of department procedures, standards, training manuals and work instruction.
    - Candidate must be excellent communicator and good listener. He shall be able to express the information clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
    - Candidate shall able to deal effectively and professionally with all employees at levels anad external bussiness contacts with service-oriented attitude.
    - Candidate must posses the ability to enhance the productivity of employees.
    - Preparation of man-hour estimate: Candidate shall understand the scope of work, seek clarifications and shall be able to prepare the man-hour estimate for the received project erquest. He shall lead the man-hour negotiations with client.
    - Candidate Shall be fully conversant with Shells DEPs and API standards so as incorporate them into design and the process calculations.
    - Candidate shall be able to use the MS office effectively in developing the reports and presentations, and must have hand-on experience in using process simulation software as HYSYS, PIPESIM, FRED, HTFS and Pipeline studio, etc.
    - Candidate Shall be able to prepare and/or check th Process Calculations such as;
      - Heat and material balance;
      - Pressure drop calculations for compressible and incompressible flow;
      - Steady state simulations using HYSYS for gas conditioning units, wells and well gathering stations, crude separator, glycol reneration units, pumps and gas compressors;
      - Hydraulic calculations using state PIPESIM simulation for pumps, pipelines and gas lines;
      - Dynamic simulations using TLNET and TGNET;
      - Depressuring calculations uding HYSYS and blowdown valve sizing;
      - Two phase separator sizing;
      - Equipment sizing such as pumps, separator, control and choke valves, vessels, heat exchangers, column, etc;
      - Relief valve sizing and selection, andits inlet and outlet lines;
      - Radiation and dipersion simulations performed using Shell FIRED software.

    - Candidate shall remain responsible for preparation of following deliverables and guide the engineers to prepare them;
      - Basis of Design;
      - Process specification and operating philosophy for the pumps, compressors, separators, tanks, filters, relief valves, control valves, pipelines, etc;
      - Process specifications of package units such as Glycol Regeneration units, gas compressors, instrument Air compressors, sea water filters and flotation units, etc;
      - Safeguarding memorandum;
      - Commissioning manual;
      - Work instructions/ Operating manual;
      - Flare and blowdown philosophy.

    - Candidate shall lead or attend following studies. REview and analyse concluded actions and close them in Coordination with Client and other disipline;
      - HAZOP;
      - IPF;
      -Design review or desktop review.
    - Candidate shall remain responsible for preparation, checking and controlling of the following Engineering Drawings:
      - Process flow diagram(PFS);
      - P & IDs/Process Engineering Flow Schemes(PEFS);
      - Process flow safeguarding schemes(PSFS);
      - Hazardous Area Clarification Drawing(HAC).
    - Candidate shall lead following or similar studies and recommend the outcome;
      - Selection of equipment and recommending the operating envelope. eg. Separator selection (single separator or multiple separators operating in parallel). Heat exchanger configuration selection, gas conditioning unit operating envelop selection, etc.
      - Capacity enhancement and adequacy checking of operating plants and the tank groups;
      - Flare and blowdown studies;
      - Benchmarking of steady state simulation model using the plant trails;
      - Crude dehydration tank operation study:
      - Problems in pumps systems associated with capacity and generated pressure;
      - Intelligent pigging driving medium selection.
    -Candidate shall participate in review of the interdisciplinary deliverables and shall drive the review to suite the process engineering requirement in given schedule:
      - Plot plans, general arrangement drawings and isometrics;
      - PDMS model;
      - Cause and Effect Diagrams.
      - As build PEFSs and Other deliverables.
    - Candidate shall participate and/or supervise the engineers for review of vendor drawings and implementation of the vendor details in the process deliverable.
    - Candidate shall attend the approval sessions to seek the approvals on prepared PEFS and HAC drawings from client's Technical Authorities.
    - Attending meetings and performing site visits at offshore and onshore installations; Candidate shall attend meetings to understand the scope and for the review of progress. He shall visit sites to collect the necessary data required for the equipment sizing and for necessary commissioning support.

SENIOR PIPELINE ENGINEER

    ? Hold a recognized degree in engineering or science degree in mechanical or structural engineering and have minimum 10 years of practical experience in the offshore and onshore oil & gas industry.
    ? Have 7 years experience in the upstream oil & gas facility design and preferably two (2) years in a leading/ coordination role in multi-discipline team.
    ? Have a working knowledge of the relevant International Standards and Codes of Practice normally used in the oil & gas Industry. It is strongly preferred that the incumbent e familiar and has worked with Shell International Design Engineering Procedures (DEP’s).
    ? Have sound appreciation of:-
      • Environmental aspects (ISO 14001) of oil & gas design.
      • Safety aspects of design in relation to the project cycle; e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, HAZAN, IPF classification methodology and implementation, reliability studies, Fire & Gas mapping and risk analysis techniques.
      • Quality Assurance and control requirements of the design process.
    ? Have practical experience and comprehensive knowledge in the following areas of onshore and offshore pipeline design:
      • Pipeline routine identification, survey and selection.
      • Requirements for protection of public safety and environment.
      • Pipeline licenses and permits.
      • Pipeline systems (scope and boundary limit), and specify Pipeline system operating Envelopes/Requirements.
      • Design Cathodics Protection (CP) systems.
      • Select Pipeline Materials [metallic/non-metallic], coatings, liners and insulation/heat tracing.
      • Pipeline strength and stability design.
      • Design special constructions.
      • Selection and design of Risers/ Tie-ins (Offshore), including riser clamps.
      • Design and specify special pipeline components.
      • Design of flexible pipelines.
      • Specify pipeline engineering specific specifications for procurement, construction and pre-commissioning.
      • Specify Pipeline engineering support to maintenance and operations.
      • Integrate operational & maintenance requirements/ philosophies into design.
      • Prepare pipeline layouts and alignment sheets.
      • Specify pressure ratings.
      • Design emergency shutdown systems.
      • Identify subsea systems, hardware and engineering specifications.
      • Derive metocean design criteria for platforms and pipelines.
      • Design storage, metering and loading facilities.
      • Pipeline repair design.
      • Use of pipeline engineering software such as: PlusONE, AUTOPIPE, OFFPIPE, CEASAR II, MATHCAD or equivalents.
      • Relevant international standards and codes of practice, normally used in the oil and gas industry, including but not limited to:
        a. IP Model codes of safe practice, Part 6.
        b. ASME Standards: B 31.3, B 31.4, B 31.8, B 16.5, B 16.9 etc.
        c. API Standards 5L, 6D, 1102, 1104, 15, 17, etc.
        d. ISO: 3138, 13623, 14723, 15589, etc.
        e. DNV: 81, 2000, F101, RP E305, B401, “Rules for submarine pipeline systems”.
    ? Have sound appreciation on:
      • Flow and flow assurance • Pump and rotating machinery selection • Oil & Gas process design.

SENIOR CIVIL/STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Candidates shall hold a recognised Engineering degree and have a minimum 10 years of relevant practical experience of which 7 years shall be identifiable experience in the upstream oil and gas facility design and preferably 2 years in a leading/coordination role in multi-discipline team. It is strongly preferred that the incumbent be familiar and has worked with Shell International Design Engineering Procedures (DEP’s).

The incumbent shall have practical experience in design and construction engineering, including offshore installation of jackets, decks, bridges and packaged units and have a comprehensive knowledge of:

    - Design techniques in structural steel engineering including finite element analysis and associated computer software.
    - Design and fabrication detail drawings.
    - Codes of practice for structural steel work erection and welding applications.
    - Installation of jacket structures, piles, decks and modules.
    - Weighing procedures and structure center of gravity calculations.
    - Lifting equipment including offshore derrick barge cranes.
    - Relevant International Sandards and Codes of Practice normally used in the oil and gas industry including, but not limited to: API, BS, AISC, DNV.

SENIOR WELDING ENGINEER

    a) Hold a recognized degree in metallurgy and/or welding engineering or equivalent and have 10 years practical experience for the offshore and onshore oil & gas industry.
    b) Have 7 years experience in the upstream oil and gas facility in materials selection and weld design.
    c) Have a working knowledge of the relevant International Standards and Codes of Practice normally used in the Oil and Gas Industry. It is strongly preferred that the incumbent be familiar and has worked with Shell International Design Engineering Procedures (DEP’s). Preferable to be a chattered engineer with a recognized international institution such as NACE.
    d) Have sound appreciation of:-
      • Environmental aspects (ISO14001) of oil and gas design.
      • Safety aspects of design in relation to the project cycle; e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, HAZAN, IPF classification methodology and implementation, reliability studies, Fire & Gas mapping and risk analysis techniques.
      • Quality Assurance and Control requirements of design process.
    e) Be capable of working independently and be able to handle interfaces between engineering specialists, project engineers and operations / maintenance personnel outside and within the project teams.
    f) Have practical materials & weld engineering experience, in the offshore and onshore oil and gas industry and have a comprehensive knowledge of:-
      • Select metallic and/or non-metallic materials.
      • Specify weld design & develop welding specifications.
      • Welding procedure specification (WPS) and welding procedure qualification records (PQR).
      • Optimise materials selection against life cycle costs.
      • Define materials and fabrication specifications.
      • Specify QA/QC needs in manufacturing / procuring / installing.
      • Provide welding and metallurgical expertise in failure investigations.
